Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, welcomed the announcement of 85 new jobs in Argyll & Bute from the UK Government's Future Job Funds.

Alan Reid MP has welcomed Argyll & Bute Council’s decision to re-assess the route that school children have to walk from Ardrishaig to the new Lochgilphead High School.

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, criticised the Government for pulling out of the West Highlands after they announced the closure of the Oban Passport Office. This office had only opened recently when the rule was introduced which meant that all first time passport applicants had to attend for an interview.

Mr Reid said,

After receiving emails from residents of North Mull who have been trapped in their homes by snow and ice for two weeks because the B8073 road is impassable, Alan Reid emailed the Council and called on them to get the road re-opened as soon as possible.

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, has called on the SNP Government to abandon its plans to allow public notices to be published online instead of in local newspapers.
 

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, called on Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) not to go ahead with their plan to charge residents of Argyll & Bute's islands and peninsulas for using ferries.
