REID - FIGHT FOR INLAND WATERWAYS SAFETY NOT OVER

Commenting on Paddy Tomkins’ review into Scotland’s water safety capabilities, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll and Bute Alan Reid said:
“This report has come not a moment too soon.  After the tragic accident at Loch Awe in April, it was vital to reform Scotland’s inland water rescue capabilities.

REID MEETS BANK BOSS ABOUT LOSS OF ISLAY MANAGER’S POST

Alan Reid MP has met Donald Kerr, Commercial Banking Director at the Bank of Scotland, to discuss the loss of the Bank’s Business Relationship Manager post on Islay.

Following CMAL’s announcement that the new Islay ferry would be named ‘Finlaggan’, Alan ReidMP said,

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, said that Scottish Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson is confused about the Campbeltown economy.

 Mr Reid was speaking after receiving a reply from Mr Stevenson in response to a letter about reinstating the Campbeltown-Ballycastle ferry.
In the letter Mr Stevenson wrote,

Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, said that Scottish Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson is confused about the Campbeltown economy. Mr Reid was speaking after receiving a reply from Mr Stevenson in response to a letter about reinstating the Campbeltown-Ballycastle ferry.

Speaking in the House of Commons today, Alan Reid MP called on the Chancellor to intervene to save the Islay Bank Manager post which the Bank of Scotland are axing.
