Alan Reid MP welcomed the announcement of a bus turning circle at the Rest & Be Thankful. He has been campaigning on behalf of Lochgoilhead residents for a safe bus stop here.
Following the announcement, he said,
“The new turning circle will allow passengers to get safely on and off the Glasgow bus on the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful. At present there is no safe place for the bus to stop, so the closest stops for passengers travelling to or from Lochgoilhead are at Argartan or Cairndow.”
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) have awarded £150,000 to this project, in addition to the £250,000 already secured from the Scottish Government’s Bus Investment Fund (BIF).
